It's always a nice thing to receive a few sets of photos for free. And BearFilms always sends out some great Bear sets as previews. That being said, I have mentioned my fair share of AOL Hometown sites. Seems that a lot of Bears like AOL and they had their cute little homepages with pics of their hubby and their cats... however Hometown is no more. Not that it's a big deal, just thought I would mention it. When you go to an AOL homepage site, it brings you to this Blog page with this "We're sorry to inform you that as of October 31st '08, AOL Hometown was shut down permanently. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Sincerely, The AOL Hometown Team". Reading the comments, it sounds like AOL didn't gave little or no warning. Bye bye to all them little Bear sites with their pics of their hubbies and the pussies.

The meaning to 'Bear' is still up for interpretation. It means many different things to many different people. For some, a Bear is a guy who husky and chunky and gruffy ~ your plumber with his plumber's crack. To others, it's guys working out in the gym who don't shave their facial hair. Bear is at times exclusive, at times inclusive, and we don't always agree when it comes to what is a 'Hot Bear'.

Saying all this ~ the guys over at Manifest Men, in my humble opinion, are not classified as Bears. They are more Atlas-type men, Colt models, however there's a few of them that border on the Bear. It could be a look in their face or the shape of their body, but some have 'Bearish' qualities... yet overall they are mostly muscle men.

The site is called Mullets Galore and it's been around since the dawn of the internet. There's not that many sites that can actually make me chuckle however this one always seems to work. There's also enough Bearish men to check out as well (seems Bears like to port mullets... scary... yet enticing... kinda).

Everyone remembers Bear.net aka Bear Networks... right? It was one of 'the' Bear sites back when the net was in its infancy. Actually, (I might be mistaken here) but I believe it was one of the very first 'profile' sites, before there ever existed Bear411 or Bearwww.

Bear Networks opened its cybernetic doors back in '95 and for a decade it had some kind of influence on the internet Bear world. Thousands of homepages had a Bear Network link on their front page. But then one day, the site just closed down. I can't remember the reason why the site shut down (most likely because the site was much too work and not enough income came in from it, but that's just a guess), but once Bear Networks was no more, it felt like we lost something.

But then it came back... but then it was gone again... and then it came back. Yet each time it came back, it never reached the popularity it once had back in the 20th Century.

Now there is a new notice on the main page. Owner Dale Therio (who's an incredibly handsome Bear) is once again thinking of bringing the site back. From the main page: "What is going on with the site? Good question. Right now I am in the process of deciding if I will completely re-vamp the site at this time, or bring the site back online as it was before. Now is the time for you to submit your suggestions. And for those jerks that sent the nasty and harassing emails, you can go screw yourselves".
